CashCrate Review

Posted by Chris

Like most of you guys reading this, I'm a student hard up for cash. I work-full time when I'm not in school, and part time during the spring and fall semesters. Despite the seemingly normal amount of work for a typical college student, you incorporate your free time, blogging, girlfriend, etc... It seems as if there just is not enough time in the day.

The state of our economy doesn't help our pursuit of cash very much either. Now, to be fair, money is not always required to have fun, it's just unfortunately a very important aspect in building your credit, paying off loans, bills, etc... it's pretty much a necessity in our wonderful country to live a somewhat "normal" and comfortable life. So after work, play, and bills, how can we find an extra source of money that is not going to drain us of our oh so deserved down time? I asked myself this same question not too long ago and so I began my quest on the oh so vast internet!

A Get Paid To website (GPT) is a website that pays you for a service of some form. Typically the most popular of these are the survey sites. There are also a pretty huge amount of scams out there that will snatch you up the second you put your guard down. I know, trust me. Out of all the GPT sites out there, I have experimented with a few myself. Some of which have been completely excellent, others haven't been so amazing. Luckily I have been able to locate a few sites that are atleast up for checking out. The one I'm reviewing in this post is CashCrate. It's a pretty popular website and more importantly it's reliable.

Minimum Payout: $20

Payment Methods: Check

Pay Period: Monthly

Age Requirement: 13+

Credit Card Required: No

This website is by far one of the best GPT sites I have ever come across. It is the primary one I recommend to everyone and the one I spend the majority of my time at. You can actually make money from this website in multiple ways. These ways being Daily Surveys, Cash Offers, Contests, Referrals, and Bonuses.

They also have a point system that can be used to get "Prizes" when you have earned enough points. It's 1 point per dollar made.

Daily Surveys

The Daily Surveys offered at CashCrate pay you $0.80 per survey. Each survey usually takes around 10-20 minutes. The only issus is that I have horrible luck getting approved for these surveys, which may be attributed to my location, income, etc... They ask you to input some general demographic information about yourself, and then they proceed to taking you to multiple surveys you qualify for. If you are lucky enough to qualify then you just do the survey, and wham, there's your 80 cents.

Two daily surveys are offered in a 24 hour period, but you figure that 1.60(30) = $48. So that's a pretty much guaranteed $48 dollars every month. This may not seem like a lot, but it sure adds up after awhile, and this is only one method of making money using CashCrate.

Cash Offers

Now as you might have guessed, the cash offers are pretty much a given at most GPT sites, this one is no different. They have a multitude of different options to choose from when it comes to doing Cash Offers.

You can choose the Free Offers, which is of course the only option I ever choose. They also have higher paying ones if you opt into purchasing or signing up for something using a credit card. I haven't really used this option because I haven't seen the need. They have so many free offers ranging in payout from $0.25 to $12.00.

People make hundreds of dollars a month spending an hour or two a day doing offers. This doesn't seem like a long time, but sitting there for two hours doing the same thing can be irritating reguardless of your level of patience. However, I also work full time right now and have other priorities, but for someone with a higher threshold for redundancy and the drive to bring in that extra money, there is no reason why you can't average $200+ a month simply by doing the cash offers.

If you are interested, I would recommend looking for a free form filler, or some other software that will basically fill in pre-written answers to common form questions. Such as your Name, Address, E-Mail Address, etc... The one I use and recomend is RoboForm.

Contests

The contests on this site are good, but I can't honestly say I've won anything. Which doesn't really bother me much, considering I do bring in a decent amount of money using this site, thus far $70.12 to be exact. I've used it for about two months now and really don't do much of anything.

They have contests on a monthly basis. Sometimes they have referral contests, where the person with the most referrals who has completed at least one cash offer will win a prize, usually an iPod or some cash prize like $100. They do have place holders underneath this position as well, all the way down to number 10. All of whom win a cash prize, the lowest amount typically won is $10.

They have other contests as well, such as one for the person(s) who have earned the most via cash offers, etc... It all really depends on how the nice people over at CashCrate are feeling that month, but they always have contests and people seem to get really into them.

Referrals

CashCrates referral program is great. They have a 20%/10% referral program. This means that I will make 20% of what my first level referrals make (the people who sign up right under me) and 10% of what their first level referrals make (the people who sign up right under them).

Photobucket

For those with concern, no, you do not take 20% of your referrals income. The money you make is simply extra money CashCrate gives you for what they make.

CashCrate has multiple referral levels with different rewards that go along with each one. I am still on the Bronze level, but my referrals still make enough money for me to get paid on a regular basis. I just haven't had the time to go out and put up more fliers or the like.

After the Bronze Level comes the Silver Level. To reach this level you must have 50 active United States Referrals. An Active Referral being one who has completed at least one cash offer. When you reach this stage you begin to get paid on the first of every month, as opposed to the middle of the month. You also get 25% of your first level referrals' income. As you can see, the higher you go, the more you make in the long run.

Bonuses

CashCrate offers bonuses for each time your First Level Referral makes the $10 minimum payout. It's a $3 bonus, which adds up when you consider that you're still earning 20% of everything they make. Once you move up in levels from the bronze to the silver and beyond, you are given the option to change your bonuses from the $3 every time they reach minimum payout, to a $1 for every time a referral completes at least one offer. I haven't made it to the silver level yet, but I see that most people make more money this way.

So that about sums up CashCrate. It's a great site and I really do recommend it. All good sites have flaws as well though. This one is just a pain because it only pays you on a monthly basis and via check, which is not a big deal, just simply less convenient than say a pay pal payment. It still works though, very effective. There are those who make $1,500+ on a regular basis using CashCrate. I personally am impressed because typically these individuals have thousands of referrals and even more secondary referrals, whereas I only have 20 active us referrals and am still beginning to make almost $50 on a regular basis. So given time, perhaps I'll get there too.
